This is a free weekend event that is usually held at the Historic Sahuaro Ranch, at 9802 N. 59th Ave., and at Glendale Main Public Library, 5959 W. Brown St. The Glendale Folk and Heritage Festival is held every spring to enable attendees to experience the cultural diversity and rich heritage of the Southwest. You will get to enjoy folk and bluegrass music shows by hundreds of musicians, workshops to learn how to play various musical instruments, and live poetry and real storytelling by cowboys. There are many food craft vendors on the grounds. Admission is free.
Summer Band Concert Series
This is one of the most popular summer traditions in Glendale AZ. The Summer Band Concert Series lasts eight weeks and it gives attendees a chance to donate to the Glendale Summer Band, which is the longest-running community band in the state of Arizona. The Summer Band Concert Series takes place every Thursday for two months starting from 8 pm at the E. Lowell Rogers Amphitheatre in Murphy Park, located at 58th and Glenn drives. The series features a special theme every week but you will enjoy free concerts for the whole family with about 100 musicians performing. There are snacks and refreshments on sale on the grounds. The Chocolate Experience
The city of Glendale AZ gives its residents and regional visitors a chance to indulge their sweet teeth every year at the Chocolate Experience. This event lasts two full days and is held at the Glendale Civic Center. The event features select chocolatiers and confectioners, performing artists, craft artisans, wine and chocolate pairings, and lots of live music on the fountain terrace. You also get a chance to tour the candy factory of Cerreta Candy Company. Admission and parking are free and there are free shuttle rides to and from Cerreta’s.
